On Oct. 30, the Missouri Perinatal Quality Collaborative launched data dashboards for hospitals participating in the MO PQC. The dashboards, developed in collaboration with the Hospital Industry Data Institute, include severe maternal morbidity data, cesarean section rates, social drivers of health codes, social vulnerability index scores and Life QI project data.

By leveraging these data, hospitals can:

  • Gain insights into maternal health-related needs.
  • Support community discussions on maternal health equity.
  • Inform needs assessments for maternal health.
  • Drive targeted quality improvement initiatives to reduce disparities and variations in care and improve health outcomes.
  • View peer benchmarking comparisons.
  • Review trends at the patient identified level.

Bernadette Hill, MSN, RN, Director of Women’s Health Services at Ste. Genevieve County Memorial Hospital, is excited about the feedback the dashboards provide in clear, concise tables. “This information can be shared with providers and staff to help guide our next steps in quality improvement.”

Hospitals interested in gaining access to the MO PQC Data Dashboards must be a participant in at least one MO PQC quality improvement initiative and complete an authorization form for each individual user. MO PQC recommends that hospitals select at least two individuals to have access to the dashboards. The form requires signatures from the requesting user and the hospital CEO. Additionally, applicants need to select Care Optics on the form.
